The Lahti L-39 (official Finnish designation: 20 pst.kiv. L-39) was a massive 20 mm semi-automatic anti-tank rifle designed by Finland's legendary firearms engineer, Aimo Lahti. Manufactured by the State Rifle Factory (VKT) between 1939 and 1944, roughly 1,900 units were produced.
Because of its colossal size, heavy weight, and thunderous recoil, Finnish soldiers affectionately nicknamed it Norsupyssy ("Elephant Gun").
Technical Specifications
Due to its scale, the L-39 resembled a small artillery piece rather than a standard infantry rifle.

• Weight: 49.5 kg (approx. 109 lbs) empty; loaded combat mass could reach over 52 kg.

• Action: Gas-operated, semi-automatic mechanism.

• Muzzle Velocity: Approximately 800 m/s (yielding a massive muzzle energy of roughly 50,000 Joules).
