In total, about 9,500 vehicles of this \u003cbr\u003etype were manufactured in the course of production, of which about 7,600\u003cbr\u003e went to American troops fighting in Europe. Standard B Liberty trucks \u003cbr\u003ewere commissioned by a special division of the US Army Quartermaster, in\u003cbr\u003e collaboration with civilian car manufacturers. When creating the design\u003cbr\u003e of this car, the aim was to create a vehicle that is as simple and \u003cbr\u003einexpensive to produce as possible, easy to use, but also with a \u003cbr\u003erelatively high load capacity and reliable. The first prototypes were \u003cbr\u003ebuilt in 1917 and production started in January 1918. Overall, the \u003cbr\u003eStandard B Liberty cars were successful, with a rather low failure rate,\u003cbr\u003e despite the short R\u0026amp;D time.
