The \u003cbr\u003eorder for the 81C was placed in May 1942, predating the second order of \u003cbr\u003ethe 81As.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe first order for 100 airframes was delivered, like all of the \u003cbr\u003eprior updates to the 81 series, with the centreline bomb rack removed to\u003cbr\u003e be used as fighters. An additional order for 35 was placed in February \u003cbr\u003e1943, and then another 15 in January 1944.
