All U.S. models featured \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Electronic_fuel_injection\" class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Electronic fuel injection\"\u003eelectronic fuel injection\u003c\/a\u003e,\u003cbr\u003e but carbureted models were still available elsewhere. The \u003cbr\u003efourth-generation saw the introduction of a fully independent rear \u003cbr\u003esuspension across the entire model range. In addition, the Honda CRX continued to be part of the Civic family \u003cbr\u003ewhich included the base model, HF and Si model in the U.S.A \/ four door \u003cbr\u003eversion called the Ballade was built, under agreement, by Mercedes-Benz \u003cbr\u003eSouth Africa \/ models were 1500 16V, 1600i 16V and 1600i 16V DOHC. The \u003cbr\u003efirst 800 cars produced at the then brand new Honda plant in Alliston, \u003cbr\u003eOntario, Canada were SE model cars. These Special Edition models \u003cbr\u003eincluded all white side molding that matched the white body and color \u003cbr\u003ematched dual mirrors. In the body molding was a wrap around blue stripe.\u003cbr\u003e Each car had interior upgrades as well as a chrome-tipped exhaust. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e Despite its non-sporting image, the Volvo 240 was a successful \u003cbr\u003ecompetitor in touring car racing in the 1980s. In 1983 Volvo produced \u003cbr\u003e505 evolution version of the 240 Turbo with a larger turbocharger and \u003cbr\u003eother performance modifications. All of these special cars were exported\u003cbr\u003e to the United States with the special equipment kit in the trunk of \u003cbr\u003eeach car. 270 of these cars were retrofitted with the special equipment \u003cbr\u003eat Long Beach and further 240s were simultaneously fitted with the same \u003cbr\u003ekit on the East Coast at the Volvo Penta facility at Chesapeake Bay. All\u003cbr\u003e 500, except for one car which was returned to Sweden, were subsequently\u003cbr\u003e stripped of their GpA homologation equipment and sold as standard road \u003cbr\u003ecars. This was allowed under the Group A regulations, the cars only \u003cbr\u003ehaving to have been made and not necessarily sold.
