Armed with two or three \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan id=\"mwIg\"\u003e20\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003emm (0.8\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ein)\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e cannon, it had a top speed of \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan id=\"mwIw\"\u003e661 kilometers per hour (411\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003emph)\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. The La-7 was felt by its pilots to be at least the equal of any German piston-engined fighter.
