The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 served alongside the Messerschmitt Bf 109 to
defend Germany from the middle stages of WWII to the end of the war. Its
use of an air-cooled engine was a rarity among contemporary European
aircraft, and its combination of maneuverability, survivability and ease
of maintenance led to massive popularity among pilots. The A-3 variant
appeared in 1942 and proved a formidable foe for British aircraft, even
as the balance of power began to change after the Battle of Britain.
From the cowlings to the unique exhaust design, the overall form and
details of the aircraft are captured accurately in 1/48 scale.
The underside showcases finely molded panel lines, rivets and landing gear bay detail.
