Introduced as the new standard upper surface color of
Luftwaffe aircraft in the summer of 1944. This dark green version is
based on one of the three officially approved formulas to be used
depending on the available component supply of a particular paint
manufacturer.

In the past this color was erroneously identified as RLM 83 by some researchers.
