Her aircraft struck airfields during the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Attack_on_Pearl_Harbor\" title=\"Attack on Pearl Harbor\"\u003eattack on Pearl Harbor\u003c\/a\u003e that formally brought the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States\" title=\"United States\"\u003eUnited States\u003c\/a\u003e into the war.
