The \u003cbr\u003ethree-speed \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Turbo_Hydra-Matic\" class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Turbo Hydra-Matic\"\u003eTurbo Hydra-Matic\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cbr\u003e automatic transmission with Switch Pitch became available, replacing \u003cbr\u003ethe two-speed Switch Pitch Jetaway, as was the case with the mid-sized \u003cbr\u003emuscle cars from other GM divisions (Pontiac GTO, Chevrolet Chevelle \u003cbr\u003eSS396, and Buick GS400). The heavy-duty floor-mounted three-speed manual\u003cbr\u003e transmission was now standard with the Muncie M-20 and M-21 four-speeds\u003cbr\u003e optional, all with Hurst shifters.
