models like the AMT 1/25 Scale Chevy II 427 Fuel Injected Drag Car, the term specifically refers to the radical Factory Experimental (A/FX) cars of the 1960s.
????️ The Fastback Chevy II Funny Car
In 1964, Bill Thomas Race Cars
built four highly specialized fastback Chevy IIs. Originally designed
for road racing, they were banned by the SCCA and found a new life on
the drag strip.
- "Dixie Twister": Driven by Huston Platt, this was one of the most famous Chevy II fastbacks.
- CKC Racing: The team of Callier, Kristek, and Cortinez campaigned a red fastback Chevy II that became a staple of the early "Funny Car" circuit.
- Construction: These cars often featured fiberglass bodies, tube frames, and an altered wheelbase (AWB) to shift weight over the rear tires for better traction.
