The cannon armament of the S.XII was unpopular, but the S.XIII \u003cbr\u003eproved to be one of the most capable fighters of the war, as well as one\u003cbr\u003e of the most-produced, with 8,472 built and orders for around 10,000 \u003cbr\u003emore cancelled at the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Armistice_of_11_November_1918\" title=\"Armistice of 11 November 1918\"\u003eArmistice\u003c\/a\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBy the end of the First World War, the S.XIII had equipped virtually every fighter squadron of the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/History_of_the_Arm%C3%A9e_de_l%27Air_(1909%E2%80%931942)\" title=\"History of the Armée de l'Air (1909–1942)\"\u003e\u003ci\u003eAéronautique Militaire\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e.
